Stealing Nasreen Book Readings in Maine


WHAT: Farzana Doctor will be at the University of Maine (Orono) and at the Bangor Public Library to read from her critically acclaimed debut novel, Stealing Nasreen. A doomed love triangle of sorts, the novel explores what happens when a South Asian lesbian becomes enmeshed in the lives of an apparently straight new immigrant couple from Mumbai.


WHEN/WHERE: Tuesday April 15th, 6:30-7:30pm at the Bangor Public Library,

Farzana Doctor is a Toronto-based, South Asian, queer writer. Stealing Nasreen, has been receiving positive reviews and media attention, from CBC Radio Toronto, the Globe and Mail, the Toronto Sun, Quill and Quire, NOW Magazine, Report on Business, XTRA!, Philly Gay News, OMNI TV News, SUN TV and the Houston Press.
